Our People

Andrew Macqueen - Managing Director

Andrew has over 25 years of experience in the aviation industry as an aircraft engineer, air traffic controller, air safety investigator, safety auditor, security manager, private pilot and small business owner. His roles include 10 years as a Senior Safety and Security Manager with premium airlines such as Qantas and Jetstar, service as an officer with the Royal Australian Air Force and as a specialist safety consultant and BARS auditor for the mining/oil industry.

Andrew has been involved in the management and design of safety data management systems for more than a decade. His experience in using a number of different safety systems during his career has led to Andrew’s belief that the industry was in need of a purpose built system to address the shortcomings of current legacy software. Andrew was one of the key managers who developed the safety reporting requirements for the Qantas Board during the late 1990‘s. His understanding of board reporting requirements and risk management responsibilities of responsible managers, together with his extensive experience in managing occurrences, investigations and audits has ensured the design of SERA has become the most comprehensive purpose built aviation safety management system available. His extensive experience in the aviation industry across a very broad cross section of airline and military operations brings to ASM a wealth of knowledge of the industry which is reflected in ASM’s products.
